“Tinubu, If You Don’t Tidy Up, They Will Deflate All the Systems That Will Give You Victory”—Ayodele
According to a video shared by Primate Elijah Ayodele on his official Facebook page on October 9, 2026, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about the political situation in Zamfara State, saying the movement of politicians from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could affect the ruling party’s preparations for the 2027 general election.
Speaking in the video, Ayodele cautioned Tinubu about the developments in the state and urged him to address the situation before it creates further political difficulties. He said: “Zamfara is shaking from APC to ADC. Tinubu, if you don’t tidy up, they will deflate all the system that will give you a victory in Zamfara.”
The cleric’s warning comes amid a fresh political crisis in Zamfara, where nine members of the State House of Assembly reportedly defected from the APC to the ADC in early October 2026. The lawmakers cited concerns about insecurity, internal divisions, alleged injustice and dissatisfaction with the handling of issues affecting their constituencies.
The development represents a challenge for the APC as political parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections. The defections followed a prolonged disagreement involving the lawmakers and Governor Dauda Lawal, who moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC earlier in 2026.
The lawmakers had raised concerns about insecurity in their constituencies, arguing that the situation required greater attention. Some also pointed to internal party divisions and what they described as unfair treatment. Their departure has intensified questions about the APC’s unity in the state.
Zamfara is politically significant because the APC will need to maintain support among party leaders, elected officials and grassroots political structures if it hopes to secure strong backing for Tinubu in 2027. The recent defections have therefore drawn attention to the party’s internal relationships and its ability to manage disagreements.
