President Tinubu Drug Allegation: US Firm Vows to Defend Report in Court

A United States-based policy advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has declared its readiness to defend itself against any legal action over its report alleging a drug trafficking record linked to Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu.

According to a report by Daily Post on Friday, October 9, 2026, the firm made this known in a statement shared on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday. This comes after former House of Representatives member, Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, threatened to sue the organization for publishing the controversial report.

In its response, Von Batten-Montague-York dismissed the threats as predictable attempts at intimidation. “We fully expected that, following our lawsuit, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and his allies would attempt to intimidate us into dropping the lawsuit by threatening to sue us for everything under the sun,” the firm stated.

The advisory group further mocked the threats, saying Tinubu’s camp might as well sue them “for saying that the moon is not made of cheese.”

Reaffirming its stance, the firm insisted it was prepared to defend its position in court. It added that it welcomed the opportunity for a U.S. court to deliberate on what it described as Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to undermine free and fair elections in Nigeria.
