My Son Said, But They Said Tinubu Can’t Sit For 2 Hrs, I Said This Man Will Sit Till 5am –Oshiomhole

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has recounted how his son questioned President Bola Tinubu’s ability to sit for extended periods after hearing claims about the president’s physical condition, prompting the former Edo State governor to share his personal observations of Tinubu.

Oshiomhole made the remarks during an interview with SYMFONI TV, where he discussed his relationship with Tinubu and recalled his experiences with the president before he became Nigeria’s leader.

According to Oshiomhole, he once took his son to visit Tinubu to give him an opportunity to observe how the president interacted with people. He explained that Tinubu had a distinctive approach to receiving visitors, often welcoming numerous people into his residence while also making time for private meetings.

The senator said his son was surprised by what he observed because he had previously heard claims that Tinubu could not remain seated for up to two hours.

Recounting the exchange, Oshiomhole said his son raised the issue directly, questioning the difference between what he had heard about the president and what he was being shown during the visit.

In his words, “He said, ‘But they said the man cannot sit for two hours.’ I said, ‘Don’t say so.’”

Oshiomhole explained that he dismissed the claim based on his personal experience with Tinubu, maintaining that the president could spend several hours receiving visitors and engaging in conversations.

The former Edo State governor said Tinubu could remain seated until the early hours of the morning, sometimes continuing his engagements until 4 a.m. or 5 a.m.

Emphasising his observation, Oshiomhole said, “This man will sit till 4–5 a.m.”

He added that people accompanying Tinubu sometimes had medical equipment and a doctor available, referring specifically to a blood pressure monitoring machine.

Oshiomhole said, “They are always carrying a blood pressure machine with a doctor around them. Because they have some health challenges.”

The senator included the observation while explaining the circumstances surrounding his encounters with Tinubu and why he believed his son’s assumptions did not match what he had personally witnessed.

His account centred on the president’s ability to spend long periods meeting visitors and holding discussions, despite claims he said his son had heard about Tinubu’s capacity to sit for extended periods.
