Kenya Met List Areas Expected To Receive Rainfall On Friday, October 9

The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has forecast rainfall in several parts of the country on Friday, October 9, with different regions expected to experience showers at various times of the day.

According to the latest daily weather forecast, Mombasa and Kwale are expected to receive moderate showers in both the morning and afternoon. Kilifi is likely to record moderate morning showers before experiencing lighter rainfall later in the day, while Tana River may receive light showers during both periods. Lamu is also expected to have moderate morning showers followed by light afternoon rains.

In the eastern and northeastern regions, Taita Taveta is forecast to receive light morning rains and moderate showers in the afternoon. Garissa, Wajir and Mandera are expected to experience light rainfall during both the morning and afternoon hours.

Central Kenya will also record rainfall in several counties. Embu, Nyeri, Kirinyaga and Kiambu are expected to receive light morning rains followed by light afternoon showers. Murang’a could experience moderate rainfall in the afternoon, while Nairobi is forecast to have light morning rains and moderate afternoon showers.

Marsabit and Laikipia are expected to receive light rainfall in the morning before sunny intervals develop later in the day.

Meanwhile, counties including Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, West Pokot, Samburu, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Baringo, Nakuru, Kajiado, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii and Nyamira are expected to experience afternoon showers after sunny morning conditions.

KMD warned that some areas could experience thunderstorms and lightning alongside the rainfall.

The department also cautioned about strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots in parts of Turkana, Samburu and Marsabit counties.
