Odii was among prominent leaders and stakeholders who attended the public presentation of Ohanaeze @ 50: The Burden of Memory, The Politics of Relevance, a book authored by Agbeze Ireke Kalu Onuma, on Tuesday.

The event brought together notable figures, including Abia State Governor Alex Otti, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, among other dignitaries.

Odii, who served as the Chief Launcher of the book presentation, reportedly cancelled a scheduled business trip to honour the occasion.

His decision to attend was described as a reflection of his commitment to issues concerning Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the broader development of the Igbo people.

The publication examines the 50-year journey of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, focusing on the organisation’s history, challenges and relevance to the future of the Igbo nation.

As Chief Launcher, Odii also provided substantial financial support for the publication.

His involvement comes amid his continued emphasis on humanitarian intervention, youth empowerment, education, economic opportunities and support for vulnerable communities.

“Leadership is not merely about occupying an office; it is about investing in people, preserving our identity and building a future that benefits generations yet unborn,” Odii was quoted as saying.

The statement said Odii’s participation at the event was also rooted in his belief that the development of Ebonyi State is inseparable from the broader progress, dignity and prosperity of Ndigbo.

According to the statement, his message was that development should begin at home but its impact should extend beyond individual communities.

“From Ebonyi to the wider Igbo nation, the message is simple—development must begin at home, but its impact must reach far beyond home,” the statement added.
