Burlington police seek suspect after Pearl Street stabbing

BURLINGTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) — Police are seeking a suspect that reportedly stabbed an individual in the Pearl Street and Park Street area Saturday, October 3.

Officers responded at 4:44 a.m. and located an individual “who had suffered an apparent stabbing injury”, according to the Burlington Police Department’s release.

The victim reportedly told authorities a man had started to assault her on Church Street, in the Cherry Street area, then was stabbed by the suspect on Pearl Street near Clarke Street. This assault came after the unidentified man had engaged the victim in a verbal altercation.

Burlington Fire Department took the victim to UVMMC for treatment. BDP notes that the victim was later discharged, and that their injuries were non-life-threatening.

The suspect is believed to be a black male with longer dark hair, wearing a brimmed white and blue hat, round glasses, plus a black and teal vest.
