Police: South Glens Falls homeowner shoots intruder

SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (WNYT) — Police said a homeowner in South Glens Falls shot an intruder during a home invasion.

State Police and South Glens Falls Police Department responded at about 4:39 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, to a home near Main Street in South Glens Falls for a reported home invasion.

Police said the investigation found that a person unknown to the homeowner entered the occupied home and was shot by the homeowner. Other people inside were not hurt, according to investigators.

The person who was shot was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound that police believe is not life-threatening.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. A heavy police presence is expected in the area and more information will be released as it becomes available.
