Iran Bombs U.S. Embassy In Riyadh; Heavy Damage Revealed By America’s Own
According to a report by Times of India (TOI) Tuesday October 6, 2026, In a big admission, the US has admitted to heavy damage to its embassy in Riyad after an attack by Iran.
US Senator Chris Murphy visiting Saudi Arabia says an Iranian drone strike on the American embassy in Riyad came frighteningly close to becoming a mass casualty event.
Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut, said he personally inspected extensive damage at the compound and argued that if the attack had happened during working hours, many Americans could have been killed.
Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry had previously said the March 3rd attack caused a limited fire and material damage.
Murphy used the visit to accuse President Donald Trump’s administration of entering the Iran war unprepared and leaving American diplomats and military personnel exposed.
Murphy also met Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman.
The senator acknowledged long-standing disagreements with Riyad, including Saudi investments involving Trump family businesses, but said cooperation remained essential to ending the Iran war and creating a pathway toward a Palestinian state.
Murphy said he wanted MBS to hear views beyond those of the Trump administration, arguing that neither a lasting end to the conflict nor progress toward a Palestinian statehood could happen without Saudi involvement.
His remarks did not address Jamal Kosigible, whose 2018 killing Murphy had previously cited while demanding accountability from Riyad.
