AC Pattoki Furqan Muhammad’s body exhumed, forensic tests ordered to determine cause of death
The exhumation and re-postmortem of Assistant Commissioner Pattoki Furqan Muhammad have been completed, while a medical board has decided to conduct forensic tests to determine the definitive cause of his death.
The Punjab Forensic Science Agency in Lahore will carry out the forensic examination.
Sources said samples of the heart, liver, kidney, spleen and lung were collected from Furqan Muhammad’s remains for further testing.
A CT scan of the remains was also conducted at PIMS Hospital.
The Assistant Commissioner, Industrial Area, supervised the exhumation of Furqan Muhammad’s grave at H-8 Graveyard in Islamabad.
The Islamabad High Court had ordered the exhumation and re-postmortem.
A six-member medical board comprising doctors from PIMS and Polyclinic was present during the exhumation.
Furqan Muhammad died on Aug. 31, 2025, while engaged in flood relief operations. He was found dead in a rest house.
His death was initially attributed to a heart attack.
However, his family did not accept the initial conclusion and approached the higher judiciary to ascertain the cause of death.
Furqan Muhammad had been buried at H-8 Graveyard in Islamabad.
