Michigan State Police said a 67-year-old Cadillac man was arrested after an investigation into an alleged felonious assault that occurred at a residence in Cherry Grove Township.
On Oct. 3 around 7:45 p.m., state police said troopers responded to a residence for a report of a domestic violence assault.
Before arriving at the residence, troopers said they were told that the suspect had fired a gun from the front porch, then returned inside and threatened to hurt the victim and law enforcement.
Troopers said the victim was able to leave the residence unharmed.
State police said they had to call in the MSP Emergency Support Team, Canine Unit and Aviation Unit to help assist them.
Troopers said they were able to communicate with the suspect and he voluntarily left the residence.
Upon leaving the residence, troopers said the man was arrested without incident and they then executed a search warrant at the residence.
While searching the residence, troopers said they seized seven guns and two magazines.
The man was brought to a hospital where he was medically evaluated and then lodged at the Wexford County Jail on domestic violence, felonious assault and weapon charges, state police said.
State police said the man’s identity is being withheld until after he is arraigned.
