Dow University nursing students’ protest disrupts traffic in Karachi

Traffic was suspended as large number of Dow Medical College Karachi nursing students staged a demonstration in favour of their demands on MA Jinnah Road on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The traffic was halted at Chand Bibi Chowk on Baba-e-Urdu Road. Traffic police were diverting traffic to the Lighthouse at M.A. Jinnah Road in Karachi.

Earlier on September 29, 2026, nursing students affiliated with Dow University Karachi staged a protest against the Semester-4 retake exams.

The protest was staged on the main road near Dow University, adjacent to Civil Hospital, which severely disrupted traffic flow.

The nursing students are demanding that the date of retake examination and review the retake examination fee.

The students are demanding an extension of the period for depositing vouchers. The nursing students also sought relief for students.

The students said that despite holding negotiations, no breakthrough was achieved. The nursing students said that they will continue their protest till the acceptance of their demands.
