Wamiqa Gabbi urges compassion for animals on Gandhi Jayanti
Actress Wamiqa Gabbi has called for greater compassion towards animals, saying that although they may not communicate in the same language as humans, they experience emotions including love, fear, pain and kindness.
Wamiqa shared a series of videos on Instagram featuring her interactions with hens, puppies and goats. She also included a childhood photograph of herself surrounded by pigeons.
âThey may not speak our language, but they feel everything we do ⌠love, fear, pain, and kindness,â she wrote in the caption.
The actress said animals are often treated as though they do not matter, when they need only compassion, care and a safe environment.
Wamiqa also linked her message to Gandhi Jayanti, urging people to make a conscious effort to protect vulnerable living beings.
âThis Gandhi Jayanti, letâs make a small promise. To be kinder, to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and to make this world a little safer for every living being,â she wrote.
Wamiqa, who turned 33 last month, began her screen journey as a child with a brief appearance in the 2007 Hindi film âJab We Metâ. She later established herself as a leading actor in Punjabi cinema with films including âTu Mera 22 Main Tera 22â, âNikka Zaildar 2â, âNikka Zaildar 3â and âKali Jottaâ.
