Deputy President Kithure Kindiki inspects ongoing construction works on the Mau Mau Lot 3 roads in Tetu Constituency, Nyeri County, on Thursday, October 1, 2026/DPCS

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Thursday inspected ongoing construction works on Mau Mau Lot 3 roads in Tetu Constituency, Nyeri.

Kindiki inspected works along the Ihururu Junction-Kanjora-Dedan Kimathi University-Maigayuini and Ihururu Junction-Njoguini-Kahigaini roads.

He said the clearance of Sh177 billion in legacy contractor debts had enabled the resumption of construction of more than 6,000 kilometres of roads across the country.

Kindiki said the government plans to tarmac 775 kilometres of new roads in Nyeri County for Sh45 billion.

He was accompanied by Nyeri Senator Wamatangi, Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi, Nyeri Town MP Dancun Mathenge, MCAs and other leaders.
