Pakistan, Russia plan MoU on anti-corruption, money laundering

Russia vows stronger institutional cooperation

Pakistan and Russia are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in anti-corruption and money laundering on November 6, according to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

NAB Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed held a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev, during which the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including institutional transparency and anti-corruption frameworks.

According to NAB, the meeting resulted in an understanding to sign an MoU between NAB and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia.

The signing ceremony is expected to take place in Moscow on November 6.

The proposed agreement is aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation between the two countries in areas related to anti-corruption and money laundering.

During the meeting, Ambassador Khorev reiterated Russia’s commitment to strengthening constructive dialogue and institutional collaboration with Pakistan.

The two sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation on transparency and anti-corruption measures.

The proposed MoU is expected to provide a framework for greater coordination between the relevant institutions of Pakistan and Russia.
