Attock police trace blind murder case

Attock  –  Attock Police have traced a blind murder case and arrested the wife of the deceased and her acquaintance for allegedly murdering her husband in the jurisdiction of Rangoo Police Station.

District Police Officer Attock, Captain (R) Ali Bin Tariq said that Attock Police have the ability and professionalism to bring the accused involved in any serious crime to justice and no matter how clever the criminals are, they cannot escape the clutches of the law.

According to police details, on September 16, 2026, Rangoo Police Station received information through Police Emergency helpline 15 that a person named Saleem Khan, resident of Kamalpur Musa, had left his house to go to nearby well but did not return home.

Family members and local people started searching for him. During the search, his body was found lying on a deserted road in the area. He had been shot dead by an unknown assailant. On receiving the information, a team of Rangoo Police Station immediately reached the spot and secured the crime scene.

Police shifted the dead body to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Attock for postmortem and medico-legal formalities. A case was registered on the complaint of the wife of the deceased and investigation was started. At that time, the murder was considered a blind case as there was no immediate clue about the accused.

Taking serious notice of the blind murder, District Police Officer Attock Captain (R) Ali Bin Tariq constituted a special investigation team under the supervision of SDPO concerned and SHO Rangoo Police Station. The DPO directed the team to trace the case on a priority basis using all available resources.

The police team worked day and night with professionalism and dedication. With the help of modern technology, scientific investigation, mobile data analysis and community policing, the police succeeded in tracing the blind murder case.

During investigation, police found that the wife of the deceased, identified as Saira Bano, and her acquaintance were allegedly involved in the murder. Police arrested both accused. The second accused has been identified as Alamgir, son of Sartaj, resident of Daman, Tehsil Hazro, District Attock.

According to police sources, the accused allegedly conspired to kill Saleem Khan. Further investigation is underway from the arrested accused and more revelations are expected.

On this occasion, DPO Attock Captain (R) Ali Bin Tariq congratulated the Rangoo Police Station team for its  excellent performance in tracing the blind murder case in a short time. 

The DPO said that protection of life and property of the citizens is the top priority of Attock Police and no effort will be spared to provide justice to the victims.
