Vogue Williams recalls her ’embarrassment’ over divorce from Brian McFadden at 30 before embracing ‘single life’ and meeting Spencer Matthews

Vogue Williams has recalled her ’embarrassment’ over her divorce from Brian McFadden at 30.

The television presenter, 40, was wed to the Westlife singer, 46, from 2012 to 2017.

In her latest podcast, My Therapist Ghosted Me, with comedian Joanne McNally, Vogue revealed after the marriage failed she thought her dream of being married and having children was over.

However, in 2017 Vogue met former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews while filming the Channel 4 winter sports reality show, The Jump.

They have just welcomed their fourth child, a baby boy named Remy Valentine.

Vogue spoke about the highs and lows of her love life after a listener wrote in and asked for tips on heartbreak after becoming a divorcée at 30.

Offering some words of wisdom, Vogue reflected on her failed marriage and how it ultimately led to her finding love with Spencer and going on to have four children.

She said: ‘I was so embarrassed when the whole thing had happened. I just was like, “This is the worst”.

‘I had made myself come to terms with the fact that I was never going to have kids and that I was never going to be married again.

‘I was just going to have to like live a life of being single. And I was like, “I’m going to enjoy being single for once in my life”.

‘I did enjoy being single and it took about three months because I was so used to being in relationships and then I enjoyed being single.

‘Then I met somebody and now I’m sitting on this podcast breastfeeding my fourth child. So this could be you at 40.’

Vogue married Spencer in 2018 and they have Theodore, eight, Gigi, six, and Otto, four, and Remy, whom she welcomed earlier this month.

Vogue had previously branded her marriage to Brian ‘a mistake’, and said she was struggling with ‘anxiety and stress’ on the day they were due to marry.

Writing in her autobiography Big Mouth, she said: ‘The morning of the wedding I felt very stressed and so anxious because deep down I knew I had made a mistake.’

‘After the wedding I tried to make things work.

‘The relationship wasn’t all terrible, we did have some great times too, and for the most part he was good fun to be around. But he was not husband material.

‘It was me who called it in the end. I couldn’t keep trying, it felt pointless… I’m not here to throw anyone under the bus but there are things that went on in our relationship that will never be forgiven.’

Brian has since married his third wife, former PE teacher and lifestyle blogger Danielle Parkinson.

The couple, who share a daughter named Ruby born in 2021, tied the knot in July last year during a beach ceremony in Cornwall.
