Goldfield & Banks is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a new fragrance and fans of one of the Australian perfume house’s most recognizable scents may want to take note.

Launching globally on October 1, Pacific Rock Swell is a richer and more intense take on Pacific Rock Moss, the fresh, aquatic fragrance that has become one of the brand’s signatures.

This marine woody fragrance captures the feeling of the ocean with a fresh burst of bergamot, cardamom and clary sage before revealing salty seaweed, Australian sandalwood, ylang-ylang and ambergris. With a 30% fragrance concentration, it delivers a richer, longer-lasting scent that moves from crisp and aquatic to warm and woody on the skin.

But Pacific Rock Swell isn’t simply Pacific Rock Moss in a new bottle. The Extrait de Parfum has a 30% fragrance concentration, giving the familiar ocean-inspired scent greater depth and intensity, while also helping it last longer on the skin.

The new Marine Woody fragrance opens with bergamot, cardamom and clary sage for a bright, fresh start. As it settles, seaweed brings in a saltier, more textured quality alongside geranium, mimosa and fir balsam.

At the base, things get warmer with patchouli, Australian sandalwood, ylang-ylang and ambergris. The combination is designed to capture a different side of the ocean – less of a breezy day at the beach and more of the sea at full force.

The Extrait de Parfum has a 30% fragrance concentration for greater depth and longevity.

It’s an idea Goldfield & Banks Founder and Creative Director Dimitri Weber has wanted to explore for some time.

For Pacific Rock Swell, Weber worked with perfumer Leonardo Lucheze of Takasago to build on the original scent while making the new fragrance feel more immersive.

The inspiration was also personal for Lucheze, who looked back to childhood mornings spent near the water and memories of salty ocean foam.

Those memories made their way into specific parts of the fragrance. Clary sage is meant to recall the wind moving across coastal rocks, while ylang-ylang brings a warmer quality inspired by sunlight breaking through clouds and hitting skin still damp from the sea.

The launch is particularly fitting for the brand’s 10th year. Goldfield & Banks was founded by French-Belgian fragrance expert Weber after he moved to Australia and became fascinated by the country’s native botanicals and dramatically different landscapes.

The idea behind the fragrance house was to bring those Australian ingredients together with the craftsmanship and traditions of French perfumery.

Over the past decade, Weber has worked with perfumers from around the world to turn everything from Australia’s coastline to its forests and native plants into fragrances.

Pacific Rock Swell is the latest fragrance from Australian luxury perfume house Goldfield & Banks.

Pacific Rock Swell brings that story back to the coast while also returning to the fragrance that helped establish the brand.

Australian sandalwood grounds the new composition, while the marine notes maintain the fresh quality associated with Pacific Rock Moss. The result is intended to feel familiar to fans of the original while offering more depth for those who want a stronger fragrance.

And with a 30% concentration, it could be particularly appealing if you love fresh aquatic scents but find they tend to disappear from your skin too quickly.

Pacific Rock Swell launches globally on October 1, 2026, and will be available in 100ml, 50ml and travel-friendly 10ml sizes.
