Edo: You, Isaac Is Hereby Sentenced To Death By Hanging, Or Through Admin Of Lethal Injection -Justice Momodu

Justice Aigbona Momodu from the Edo State Special Criminal Court has given a death sentence by hanging to Marvelous Isaac, who was already convicted for kidnapping crimes in the state. 

Justice Momodu gave the judgment during a court case that was reported by Channels Television on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.He sentenced Isaac to seven years in prison for the first charge against him. 

The court gave Isaac the death penalty for counts two through nine because they found him responsible for the crimes listed in those charges. 

When Justice Momodu delivered the sentence, he stated that Isaac would be put to death by hanging or by receiving a lethal injection, as decided by the court. 

The judge said, “In count one, Marvelous Isaac is being sentenced to 7 years in prison.” In counts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, Marvelous Isaac is hereby sentenced to death by hanging or by receiving a lethal injection. You will be hanged by the neck until you are dead. May the Lord have mercy on you.” 

The decision means Isaac got a jail sentence for the first charge, and the other eight charges could lead to the death penalty. 

The sentencing is part of the process in the Edo State Special Criminal Court, which is handling cases related to kidnapping and other serious crimes. After the case against Isaac was finished, the court made its decision.Justice Momodu officially stated the sentence for each charge.
