Dubai-Tel Aviv flight makes emergency landing in Saudi Arabia

A commercial flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv issued an emergency signal before making an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to foreign media reports, the aircraft reportedly transmitted the 7700 emergency squawk code after an incident in the cockpit involving an argument between the pilots. 

The flight also transmitted squawk code 7500, which is used to indicate a hijacking or unlawful interference.

Following the emergency, the aircraft turned around while descending and diverted to Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely.

Reports of the incident prompted speculation that the aircraft had been hijacked. 

However, a spokesman for the Israeli prime minister rejected reports that the Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight had been hijacked.

About 180 passengers were reportedly on board the aircraft at the time of the incident.
