‘Why didn’t you also bring your ex-husband on the show after divorce?’ – Man question on Auntie Naa

According to report by Ghanaweb on Tuesday 29, September 2026, a recent episode of Oyerepa Afutuo, the popular domestic and family dispute resolution programme on Oyerepa TV, turned heated when a guest, Sarpong Kumankuma, engaged host Eunice Naa Amerley Nortey, popularly known as Auntie Naa, in a tense exchange.

Sarpong appeared on the programme following a complaint filed by his wife, Millicent, who accused him of physically abusing her and making decisions concerning the custody of their two children without her consent. The children reportedly include an eight-month-old baby.

As Auntie Naa questioned Sarpong about the allegations, he unexpectedly shifted the discussion to the host’s personal life. He questioned why Auntie Naa was examining his marital problems when she had also gone through a divorce from her former husband, Bonsheka.

Sarpong asked why the circumstances surrounding Auntie Naa’s previous marriage had not been subjected to similar public scrutiny or why her former husband had not been invited onto the programme to discuss their separation.

Auntie Naa, however, rejected the comparison and maintained that her situation was different from the allegations facing Sarpong. She stressed that her previous marriage did not involve the alleged physical abuse being discussed on the programme.

During the heated exchange, Auntie Naa stated that Bonsheka had not physically assaulted her in the manner Sarpong was allegedly accused of treating his wife.

Sarpong nevertheless argued that presenters of public dispute-resolution programmes should also be willing to examine their own personal conduct and experiences.

The programme further exposed tensions within Sarpong and Millicent’s nine-year relationship. Millicent reportedly explained that an argument over a room cover escalated into insults, slaps and a physical confrontation.

Following the alleged altercation, Millicent said she decided to leave the marriage with their children and went to stay at her father’s residence. She subsequently reported the matter to the Central Police Station, bringing the dispute before the authorities.
