Kindiki inspects Gatiki-Gathugu-Mung’etho Road in Nyeri

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has continued his inspection of government development projects across Mt Kenya.

His latest visit focusing on the ongoing works on the Gatiki-Gathugu-Mung’etho Road in Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County.

Kindiki inspected the road works on Tuesday, September 29, as he stepped up monitoring of infrastructure projects in the region.

“Inspection of Works, Gatiki-Gathugu-Mung’etho Road, Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County, “he said.

The latest inspection comes days after the Deputy President toured Nyeri County, where he visited Chaka in Kieni Constituency and highlighted ongoing road construction and other development projects.

During the September 25 visit to Chaka, Kindiki said the government was tarmacking 775 kilometres of roads across Nyeri County at a cost of Sh45 billion.

He said the ongoing paving of roads in Chaka and Naro Moru townships would be extended to Kiawara as part of efforts to modernise the urban centres and improve connectivity.

“The Government has fully revived the road sector and is building Kenya’s future kilometer by kilometer,” Kindiki said.

He added that the construction programme was creating both skilled and unskilled employment opportunities while supporting the local construction industry.

The latest Mathira inspection therefore adds to a series of development-focused tours by the Deputy President in the region, where he has been monitoring the implementation of government projects and engaging local leaders.

Kindiki has also recently toured Murang’a County, where he inspected and launched various development projects, further extending his project-monitoring activities across the Mt Kenya region.
