Bank of Ghana Releases Official Daily Exchange Rates for Tuesday, September 29th, 2026

The Bank of Ghana has released its daily exchange rates for Tuesday, 29 September 2026. The rates show the value of the Ghana cedi against three major currencies: the US dollar, the British pound sterling and the euro.

According to the bank, the figures are the average interbank rates used by commercial banks for transactions at the close of business on Monday, 28 September 2026.

The US dollar is buying at GH₵11.6542 and selling at GH₵11.6658. The gap between the two rates is small, which shows a stable trading position for the currency.

The British pound sterling is buying at GH₵15.4593 and selling at GH₵15.4759. The pound remains the strongest of the three currencies against the cedi.

The euro is buying at GH₵13.2572 and selling at GH₵13.2704. This places the euro between the US dollar and the pound sterling.

The buying rate is the price at which banks purchase foreign currency from customers. The selling rate is the price at which banks sell foreign currency to customers. The selling rate is always slightly higher than the buying rate. This difference is known as the spread.

These rates are important for many people. Importers and exporters use them to plan their business costs. Travellers use them to estimate their spending abroad. Families who receive money from relatives overseas also rely on them to know how much their remittances are worth in cedis.

Investors and analysts also watch the rates closely. Changes in the exchange rate can affect prices, business profits and the general cost of living.
