(TNND) — Nearly eight months after Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona, home, investigators said Monday they are reviewing a possible new ransom note tied to the case.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office and FBI Guthrie Task Force said they were “recently made aware of a new possible ransom note related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.”

“Investigators are also aware of social media comments regarding the note and are looking further into the information to determine its credibility,” the agencies said.

Authorities did not immediately say how the note was found or disclose its contents.

In July, authorities released two ransom notes sent to a Tucson television station days after Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing Feb. 1.

The first note, sent Feb. 2, claimed Guthrie was safe but frightened and would be released unharmed if her captors received $4 million in cryptocurrency. A second note sent Feb. 6 claimed she died shortly after being kidnapped. Authorities have not confirmed whether Guthrie is alive.

No suspects have been arrested. Nine days after Guthrie went missing, the FBI and sheriff’s office released surveillance video and still images of a masked person they said appeared to tamper with a front-porch camera and obscure it with a plant.
