Attorney General’s Guidance on Interdiction of Civil Servants

Kampala– The Attorney General of Uganda, Hon. Sam Mayanja has issued guidance regarding the status of Public officers under Prosecution after the expiry of six months period.In his letter dated 25th September 2026, addressed to, all Permanent Secretaries, all Accounting Officersand Chief Administrative Officers, the Attorney General guided, that where a public officer is still undergoing criminal prosecution, that public officer/servant continues under interdiction until the criminal prosecution is concluded and ends in his or her acquittal.
