Antonio Brown Strikes “Significant” Court Deal in Attempted Murder Case After Facing 30-Year Prison Sentence

Antonio Brown has been fighting for his freedom ever since a single night almost led to the killing of one man. Brown allegedly fired a gun following an amateur celebrity boxing match in Miami on May 16, 2025.

Surveillance footage showed Brown, wearing a green army helmet, punching a man named Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu. Consequently, the physical confrontation quickly drew in multiple people and briefly turned into a three-on-one melee.

Security guards intervened to break up the initial brawl, but the dangerous tension did not stop there. Authorities allege that Brown immediately went to a nearby vehicle to retrieve a black handgun. He then jogged back toward the corner and pursued the man he had fought earlier. Furthermore, witnesses reported hearing two gunshots ring out, which caused the crowd to react in panic.

Nantambu later told investigators that one of the fired bullets actually grazed his neck. Police temporarily detained Brown at the scene in handcuffs but released him that night without an immediate arrest.

Florida authorities formally issued a warrant charging former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown with second-degree attempted murder with a firearm. Consequently, a judge ordered him to face house arrest once law enforcement took him into custody. Instead of turning himself in to local police, the former athlete quickly fled the United States. He flew out of the country to relocate to Dubai, where he lived for several months.

His international evasion ultimately ended in November 2025 when U.S. Marshals tracked his location down. Federal agents successfully apprehended him in the Middle East and immediately flew him back home. He was booked into a New Jersey jail before being extradited back to Miami for trial.

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown will officially accept a lenient plea deal in his Florida attempted murder case. The former athlete faced a steep 30-year prison sentence if found guilty of the shooting. Consequently, his legal team chose to secure a deal that significantly reduced his criminal charges to probation.

This sudden resolution came shortly after the alleged victim announced he would stop cooperating with the prosecution.

His attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, clarified that the player is not admitting guilt to the state’s severe claims. Eiglarsh stated, “He is not accepting this agreement because he suddenly agrees with the State’s allegations.” Furthermore, the lawyer noted that avoiding a lengthy, exhausting court battle was the best path forward. He added, “He is accepting it because the State made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.”

Brown is scheduled to formally appear in a Miami courtroom on September 30 to sign the deal.
