Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold, has reacted to claims allegedly made about her by fellow actress, Ekene Umenwa.
Naija News reports that the issue started after upcoming actress Adanma Waller shared a video online, accusing Ekene of speaking badly about several colleagues in the movie industry.
Among the names mentioned were Ruby Ojiakor, Chioma Chijioke, Uche Nancy, Chinedu Isaac, and Lizzy Gold. The video quickly went viral and sparked heated discussions on social media.
Following the accusations, Lizzy Gold took to her Instagram page to address the matter.
She accused Ekene of spreading false stories about her personal life to make herself appear better than others.
According to Lizzy, Ekene allegedly claimed that she has body odour and that her two children are from different men.
Lizzy denied the allegations, calling them baseless. She stated that many people in Nollywood are aware of her personal hygiene and character.
She also questioned how someone who is not close to her could make claims about her private life.
The actress maintained that the stories were fabricated to damage her reputation.
She further explained that she usually keeps her distance from certain people to avoid drama, but was surprised that her name was still dragged into the situation.
Lizzy expressed anger over what she described as gossip and attempts to stain her reputation, which she said took years to build.
The actress also criticised Ekene’s public image, saying it does not align with the actions attributed to her. She advised her colleague to seek forgiveness and reflect on her actions.
