The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has elected Professor Ernest Yorke as its new President, defeating his closest contender, Dr Justice Yankson.
Prof. Yorke secured 1,857 votes, representing 53.6 per cent of the total valid ballots cast.
The results were declared by the Chairperson of the GMA Electoral Committee, Dr Aija Larsen-Reindorf, following the close of voting on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
An educator and health advocate, Prof. Yorke has previously served as a Junior Doctors’ Representative Council member, Divisional Secretary, Divisional Vice Chair, and a member of the GMA Council.
