Vice President Dr. Mahamudu made a significant impact at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on Saturday evening, drawing an overwhelming crowd during a stakeholders’ engagement at the university’s Law Auditorium. The session included members of the university community, traditional leaders, imams, and religious figures.
Dr. Mahamudu, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Candidate for the upcoming December 7, 2024, elections, arrived on campus after campaign tours in the Asante Akim Central and Bosome Freho constituencies. His arrival brought campus activities to a near standstill, creating human and vehicular congestion as excited students rushed to welcome him, some eager for a handshake or a photo opportunity.
The atmosphere inside the packed Law Auditorium was electrified as students cheered and celebrated his entrance. Following the engagement at KNUST, Dr. Mahamudu proceeded to Ayeduase, a neighboring town, accompanied by students who trailed behind the campaign’s “Possibilities” bus.
Dr. Mahamudu was met with an impressive turnout at Ayeduase, where a sea of supporters filled the park, streets, and sidewalks, celebrating with vuvuzelas and brass band music. It was touted as the largest crowd of his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region to date.
Michael Aidoo, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Oforikrom, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the residents and party supporters for their strong show of support. Dr. Mahamudu, buoyed by the turnout, remarked that such gatherings demonstrate confidence in the NPP’s prospects for victory in the upcoming elections. He urged Ghanaians to transform their enthusiasm into votes on December 7 and pledged exemplary leadership if elected.
