The Electoral Commission’s (EC) Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) with all political candidates in the upcoming December 7 general elections is currently underway at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
Leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) requested that the meeting be broadcast live so the public could follow the discussions in real time as it will enhance transparency and credibility of the upcoming polls.
Director of IT and Elections for the NDC, Dr. Omane Boamah in a Facebook post on his wall on Monday, September 30, said the meeting which is to discuss alleged discrepancies uncovered on the 2024 voters register, will improve the credibility of the upcoming polls.
NDC raised concerns with the voters register and called for a forensic audit of the electoral roll and went on a nationwide protest on September 17 to demand an urgent action be taken to resolve the discrepancies.
The EC however, also denied the NDC’s allegations and said steps taken to rectify the issues are in full swing.
