Chef Faila unveils cookbook ‘Authentic Ghanaian Cuisine’

Celebrity Ghanaian chef, Failatu Abdul-Razak, better known as Chef Faila has officially launched her debut cookbook, Authentic Ghanaian Cuisine, following her bid to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

The book launch event, held at the Accra Tourism Information Centre, was graced by a distinguished gathering, including the Deputy Director of Domestic Marketing at the Ghana Tourism Authority, Kakra Kofi Atta Kusi, and the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Tourism Authority Mr Jones Aruna Nelson.

Chiefs from the Northern Region also attended to show their support. In an interview with Channel One TV, Chef Faila explained the inspiration behind her new book: “The title Authentic Ghanaian Cuisine reflects my goal to promote our culture, heritage, and people while also creating job opportunities for the youth.”

Regarding the pricing of the book, the celebrated Chef revealed that it is currently up for auction, with the final selling price to be determined by her team. “So far, we have printed 500+ copies, but the price will be set after the auction,” she stated.

Chef Faila’s attempt to break the world record took place earlier this year, spanning from January 1st to January 10th at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.

During the marathon cooking session, she exhibited her culinary expertise by preparing a variety of traditional Ghanaian dishes. The event was also marked by rich cultural displays from the people of the Northern Region.

While Chef Faila fell short of breaking the official 119-hour record set by Alan Fisher due to some technicalities, Guinness World Records commended her efforts and encouraged her to pursue future record attempts.
