Kofi Tontoh, political aide to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has dismissed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) suggestion that Ghana needs a reset.
He argues that the country requires an upgrade, not a reset.
In an interview with Selorm Adonoo on the Point of View, Mr Tontoh emphasised that Ghana has made significant progress under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the past eight years, which should be built upon rather than reset.
He questioned the rationale behind the NDC’s call for a reset, noting, “The bottom line is that the nation has achieved so much in the last eight years in the face of all the challenges that confronted us, and so what we are saying is that yes, we’ve gone through challenges, but we have also done so well in so many instances that we can only build on it and not to reset it.”
Mr Tontoh further queried, “The question is resetting to what? Resetting to four years of no electricity or resetting to the time when cholera was killing people or resetting to the time His Excellency said we’ve chewed the meat left to the bone. To what really?”
