I am the victim, Mahama is playing the victim card – Koku Anyidoho –

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has rejected claims that he harbors animosity toward the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

In an interview with Metro TV, Mr Anyidoho countered the allegations of victimization, asserting that he is the true victim in their ongoing political dispute.

He accused Mahama of orchestrating a campaign to have him removed from his position, revealing that individuals such as Martey Newman, Omani, and Uncle Ato had informed him of Mahama’s suggestion that he should resign.

He also recounted receiving multiple calls from various people urging him to take a leave of absence.

Mr Anyidoho remarked that such a leave would have made it difficult for him to return to his role, suggesting that Mahama’s real intention was to force his removal.

“Mr Newman, I have never said this story but after 12 years to the extent that you people continue to sit down and let Mahama and let boys play the victim card as if I am the bad person, Mr Newman, after 12 years I am mentioning your name, uncle Ato I am mentioning your name because I will not allow them play the victim as if I am the bad person.

“I have always been the victim but for the sake of cohesion I have kept quiet. But after 12 years I will mention the names and let the whole world know that the victim that Mahama is playing is fake. I am the real victim. Martey Newman tells me that John Mahama says that he cannot work with me so I should leave the presidency. At that point I said well Omani has told me, Uncle Ato has told me, Martey Newman you are telling me, so I said please go and tell the president that I am not going on leave and I am not leaving the presidency because we have an election to win and I have to protect the legacy of Atta Mills. Me going on leave was a ploy by Mahama to sack me,” he added.
