Epixode hopes to be as big as Grammy winner Kabaka Pyramid ‘one day’

Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall and Afrobeats artiste, Epixode is hoping to soar to the level of Jamaican artiste Kabaka Pyramid.

The Jamaican reggae star won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album ‘The Kalling.’

He picked up the award at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards premiere ceremony, which took place at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 5.

Reacting to his win on Twitter, Epixode shared a photo of Kabaka with the caption: “ONE DAY. Will be as big as Pyramid.”

Kabaka Pyramid is a conscious lyricist who blends melody of Reggae with the lyricism of Hip hop. 

Pyramid has performed on stages like Reggae on the River (US), Rebel Salute (JA), Sierra Nevada World Festi (US), Rototom Sunsplash (Spain), Musa (Portugal), SummerJam (Germany), Reggae Sumfest (JA), Reggae Sundance (NE), Reggae Sun Ska Festi (FRA), South by South West (US), BoomTown (UK) as well as headlining multiple 20+ multi-city club tours.

He is also highly acclaimed for his electrifying and entertaining performances.

Some of his songs are ‘Well Done’, ‘Can’t Breathe’, ‘Never Gonna Be A Slave’, ‘No Capitalist,’ ‘Mi Alright’, among others.

Epixode who won the Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the Year at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Awards is one of the formidable forces in the genre in Ghana.

He has songs like ‘Yeah Man’, ‘Odeshi’, ‘Too Much’, ‘Atia’, ‘Jehovah’, among others.
