The Ministry of Education in the Republic of Kenya released all primary and secondary schools learners to an almost two months holiday which kicked of on 25th November 2022 after a successful completion of the year 2022 schedule.
The learners are now expected to be preparing to reopen the schools as the festive seasons are almost coming to an end. Come January, the learners are expected to proceed to their next class as they kick off their first term of the academic year.
The Ministry of Education had earlier on compressed terms where a term could have a maximum of eight weeks, but now they are happy that the school calendar is back on the track and terms will atleast have enough time for syllabus coverage and other important school activities.
As per the school updated calendar, all primary and secondary schools will reopen on January 23, 2023. The first term will have a total of 13 weeks and so it’s expected to run upto April 21,2023. In between the 13 weeks, there will be midterm break of 3 days which will kick off as from 23rd March to 26th March 2023.
