Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza has pointed out one main solution which can be used in resolving the fight being experienced in Meru County Government.
While cross-examinig her, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, a member of the 11 Senate Committee investigating her impeachment asked her which solution she thought could be the key solution to her misunderstanding between her and the MCAs.
Responding to him, Kawira categorically told Sifuna and the entire house that her impeachment is all about the ward fund that MCAs are supposed to control on developmental agendas.
She further went ahead, to say that in order to have peace in Meru County, the government needs to legalise the ward fund and come up with a legal framework that will see how the funds will be disbursed.
Clarifying why the ward funds should be legalised, Kawira said that the previous government had left a budget which she decided to continue with, leaving her with only Sh.10 million to share among all Meru wards.
Nominated Senator Peris Tobiko however, went a notch higher to lecture the governor of allegedly plotting the downfall of women by creating a negative narrative about women leaders with her style of leadership.
