With the presidential campaigns now in full swing across the nation’s political landscape ahead of the 2023 general elections, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River, Alphonsus Eba has come out to explain how important Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent visit to Calabar is to members of the ruling party in the state.
Recall that on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the ancient city of Calabar was agog with activities as the APC flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Alhaji Kashim Shettima took their presidential campaign to the South-South state of Cross River.
While speaking during an interview on Television Continental’s ‘Politics Tonight’ a few hours ago, Eba, who is a member of the APC Campaign Council in Cross River, disclosed that members of his party were so joyful to have Tinubu come to their state, so much so that it could be compared to the Biblical account of how Jesus triumphantly entered Jerusalem thousands of years ago.
“Tinubu’s outing was one-in-town, it was fantastic, excellent. It was one of the best things that happened to Cross Rivers State, and we are happy. We can’t wait to see him again on the 30th of January. Please keep a date with us and beam the event live so that the world will see what Cross River State is made of. The last visit was like the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, this next one will be like the crowning of Jesus as King.”
