According to Punch News reports, it was stated that the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, said the joke about him being replaced with one Jibril from Sudan was not funny.
According to Punch News reports, Buhari, who spoke in Abuja on Friday during an event organized for his 80th birthday, also said he wouldn’t miss Aso Rock too much.
He also said that “I don’t know where some Nigerians got the rumours that I was replaced with one Jubril.”
“The joke is not a funny one at all, and I can assure my people that I am hale and hearty.” He said
He also added that the rumours were the result of the handiwork of some people who delight in confusion and crisis.
Punch News also reported that President Buhari responded to a question about the rumor by saying, “Yes! People have said I am somebody from Sudan. I didn’t bother with the name. “Nigerians have mischievous ways of explaining themselves.”
