ASUU Strike: FG Has Not Met Any of Our Demands Despite Meetings with Gbajabiamila -Prof. Osodeke

More troubles may be looming for students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria as Emmanuel Osodeke, the National President of ASUU, has revealed that none of the associations’ demands have been met by the FG. Osodeke appealed to Nigerians on Plus TV while discussing the outcome of ASUU’s strike.

Addressing the topic, Emmanuel Osodeke said, “Nothing has happened since we called off the ASUU strike.” There have been no meetings, and the negotiation committee that was set up by the government has been dismantled.

He continued, “You may recall that the speaker of the national assembly, Gbajabiamila, met with us and indicated that they have made some agreements.” This was our basis for calling off the strike. Nigerians should urge them to fulfill their promises. The failure to fulfill promises often leads to strikes. They should pay the backlog of salaries, finish the negotiations, pay academic allowances, and adopt UTAS. These are our agreements, but they have abandoned everything today. Nigerians should tell the people they elected to do the needful.
