Russian Ambassador says Russia hopes to continue cooperation with Argentina despite West’s pressure

Argentina is under enormous pressure from Western countries, but there are still opportunities for cooperation between Moscow and Buenos Aires, according to Dmitry Feoktistov, the Russian Ambassador to Argentina, in a televised interview with Todo Noticias, which aired on Friday, according to TASS.

“We observe Argentina increasingly backing anti-Russian measures in international organizations, the United Nations.” We recognize that Western countries are putting enormous political and economic pressure on your country. “We hope that Buenos Aires will not succumb to this pressure and will find the strength to retain its historic alliance and good ties with Moscow,” he added.

Feoktistov stated that Russia is “willing to continue growing cooperation in all sectors.”

“Russia and Argentina are linked by comprehensive strategic cooperation.” “That is, we should proceed independent of the geopolitical environment or any other present conditions,” added the diplomat.

The ambassador made it clear that “Buenos Aires has not joined the sanctions on Russia and considers them illegitimate from the point of view of international law and ineffective in the context of the search for peaceful solutions,” similar to the majority of other nations on the globe.

“Russia and Argentina have traditionally shared ideas on what a multipolar and multilateral international order should look like.” “There is no space for hegemony, neocolonialism, or diktat,” Feoktistov said.
