S/R: More East Gonja communities connected to the national grid

The Municipal Chief Executive for East Gonja, Richard Broni, has commissioned electrification projects at Kinklin, Accrape and Kiklin Nkwanta, all in the East Gonja Municipal of the Savannah Region.

The MCE at a mini-durbar acknowledged the level of patience exhibited by residents in the beneficiary communities.

“The anxiety to get this project done for you to enjoy electricity is over and today the wait is over and your patience has paid off.

“Electricity has become critical to the socioeconomic activities in this area and this is yet another measure of alleviating poverty.”

The MCE assured the people that the Akufo-Addo-led government remains committed to the even distribution of the nation’s resources to every corner of the country.

Leadership of the beneficiary communities expressed gratitude to government for the intervention.

Special mention was made of the efforts by the former Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency, Adam Salifu Braimah, for the project.

Six communities – Dagombia, Yayili, Matilapor, Nakpaye, Kunkowu and Mabunyi – benefited from Phase I of the electrification projects in 2021.

Phase II of the project captured Accrape, Kinklin, Kwatakwata, Kalanpor and adjoining communities.

The commissioning was supervised by NEDCO/VRA officials in the East Gonja Municipality.
