“Most People Will Surely Expect A Lot From me” – Thomas Partey

Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey has said that they will play as a team despite many Ghanaians expecting him to up his game against Uruguay.

The Black Stars will clash against Uruguay on Friday in a repeat of the 2010 where the Uruguayans prevailed via the penalty shootouts in South Africa.

The Black Stars lost their opening game against Portugal by 3-2 before managing to come back stronger in the second game to beat South Korea 3-2.

They next face Uruguay in the third and final group H game and Thomas Partey says they will put up a team performance.

“Most people will surely expect more from me, but we are playing as a team. I listen to the coach and look to do what he has asked me to correctly so that he will be happy.”

The Black Stars are making their fourth appearance at the World Cup after their debut appearance at the 2006 edition held in Germany.

They played subsequently at the 2010 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and Brazil respectively.
