Take Serious Attention On The 1D1F Policy To Discourage Youth From Engaging In Galamsey – Artisan.

The Chief Executive Officer of K. Adu Gas Oven & Stoves Co. Ltd sited at Kumasi Suame in the Ashanti Region, Mr Kwabena Adu has stressed the need for the government to put measures in place to revive the 1D1F projects to help benefit Ghanaians. 

Mr Adu observed that the policy is though good, its implementation is surrounded with lot of question marks.

Speaking to the Correspondent in an interview, Mr Adu alleged that the aims an d objectives in which the policy was brought to focus tend to have been misplaced.

He argued that government needs to engage more competent supervisors to handle the projects. 

Insisting that through pragmatic measures the projects would survived.

Mr Adu alleged that unfortunately the personnel engaged to manage the sector seems to have disappointed the government because the projects are no more popular with Ghanaians, the artisan alleged.

Mr K. Adu alleged further that the 1D1F policy was adopted purposely not to create jobs for the youth alone but also to generate funds to support the economy.

He insisted that when one critically follows the performance of the projects at the district levels no one can come to the conclusion that the projects are perfectly ongoing.

The alleged downward trend of the 1D1F concept Mr Adu intimated have pushed out many workers from the sector

Stressing that the 1D1F workers have been scattered around the galamsey sites in the act of polluting the environment for money.

The youth who initially developed interest to work with the 1D1F outfits can leave the galamsey sites and assume their positions if corrective measures are put in place to entice them, Mr Adu pointed out.

He said the 1D1F agenda is a laudable policy hence he advocates for it’s revival.

To attract the youth to stop the illegal mining activities that have the negative impact to destroy the country’s environment.
