Crate of egg to be sold GH₵45 at the farms – Poultry Farmers

A crate of eggs will cost GH₵45.00 at the farms, according to Ghanaian poultry farmers.

The decision to raise the commodity’s price, according to the , was made as a result of the high cost of living in the nation and the cedi-dollar exchange rate.

The farmers reaffirmed that going forward, the cost of an egg crate at their farms will be 45 Ghana cedis.

Speaking to the media about the situation, the association’s Public Relations Office (PRO), Mr. Asiedu Kwame, warned that the country’s poultry sector would collapse if the association failed to sell the product at the aforementioned price.

According to him, their business has been hit particularly hard by the regular increases in poultry feed prices and the high cost of feed, necessitating a small price adjustment in order to remain competitive.

So he begged Ghanaians to agree to the new price.
