One Dead, three others injured in Bogoso Timber Truck fatal accident

One person died in an accident on Saturday 19 November 2022 in Bogoso, in the western region of Ghana.

A fully laden lumber truck AS 2765-R crashed into cars going downhill in reverse after failing to break while ascending to the BOGOSO market Roundabout.

Three passenger vehicles and a Toyota Corolla private automobile were hit by falling logs, trapping one of the occupants inside.

The trapped passenger was reached, but he was already dead. A team of rescuers from FUTURE Global Resources, the Ghana National Fire Service, NADMO, the Ghana Police Service, the National Ambulance Service, and volunteers arrived.

When he sensed danger, Augustus Osei, the driver of Mazda Demio Taxi Cab with registration number GW 6327-22, yelled for all the passengers to get out and flee, but he was unable to do so.

The individual who couldn’t get down inside the taxi cab was stuck when the logs fell on it.

At the Bogoso Health Center, three injured people are receiving medical attention.

The deceased’s Ghanaian identification card named him KAPIRE YAW-KWAAKYE.
