Food Market At No Cost To Taxpayer – Agric Ministry

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has recently opened a foodstuff market the ministry’s forecourt in order to cushion Ghanaians amidst the rising cost of foodstuffs. Different types of crops such as plantain, yam and cassava were sold at relatively lower prices as compared to other markets.

The Ministry earlier today extended the market to the popular Makola market for easy accessibility to consumers.

Meanwhile, there have been concerns to whether taxpayers money is involved in the initiative or not.

However, the Ministry has debunked the notion and they insist the initiative or the program is of no cost to the taxpayer hence there’s no need to worry.

While others commend the government and the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Afriyie Owusu Akoto for a laudable initiative, others think the idea does not serve other Ghanaians living beyond Accra.
