“Ghana Doesn’t Need Big Players to Perform at The World Cup” – Ex-Ghana Striker

Ex-Ghana striker, Prince Tagoe says the nation does not need popular players to perform well at the World Cup.

Apart from Andre and Jordan Ayew, the remaining 24 Black Stars players have not played at the World Cup, leaving many Ghanaians in doubt of the team’s qualities.

Tagoe, who played at Ghana’s quarter final place finish at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa says, strong character will carry the team far.

“All that we need is, there should be peace, there should be joy.

“We don’t really need big players or players that are well known to win the World Cup.

“It’s sometimes about the love and the spirit and the kind of mindset the players have that will carry us through.” Prince Tagoe told Radio Gold Sports.

The Black Stars are making their fourth appearance at the World Cup having first entered in Germany 2006 and subsequently in 2010 and 2014 in Brazil.
