Atia Koolgo Sets Athletics Record at Ghana Games

University of Winneba Wins Men’s 10,000M race at 27th GUSA Games

University of Winneba long distance runner, Atia Koolgo has won the men’s 10,000M race at the ongoing GUSA Games in Kumasi.

The 2-weeks event which began on Friday, 4th November is expected to end on Saturday 19th November, 2022.

Atia Koolgo who beat his other counterparts came first after 24 laps with a time of 31:11.18

National champion, William Amponsah also of UEW suffered heartburn as he pulled out of the race after leading through to the 11 lap.

Atia Koolgo spoke exclusively to Gold Power Sports reporter in Kumasi. It will be a plus to the young athlete as that improve his ability to become one of the best athletes in Ghana. One can talk about University of Ghana student, Saminu Abdul Rashid who participated at the 2022 Commonwealth Games staged in Birmingham, United Kingdom. He performed creditably well at that tournament.
