CAF Selects Top Ghanaian Referee For Top Job

Ghana’s current best referee, Daniel Laryea has been selected as one of the Video Assistant Referees [VAR], for Sunday’s Africa Women’s Champions League finals.

The astute football official has been named by the Confederation of African Football to handle the final game between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies against Morocco side, ASFAR.

The final of the competition will be on Sunday, 13 November 2022 at the Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat, Morocco.

The winners of this competition will take home 400,000 USD with the runner-up walking away with 250,000 USD.

The semi-finalists will be 200,000 USD each richer.

The third-placed group winners will receive USD 150,000, while the fourth-placed team will receive a participation bonus of USD 100,000. 

This financial disbursement makes it the richest women’s club competition in Africa. Ghanaian club, Hasaacas Ladies who were in the finals of the maiden edition of the competition could not qualify for this season’s campaign.
