Akufo-Addo Is “Deceptive”, He Was Expected To Apologize To Ghanaians – Murtala

In his public address on the economy on October 30, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was criticized by Tamale Central Member of Parliament Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed for being disingenuous and deceptive. He claimed that the President’s statistics and data regarding inflation and employment were false.

Speaking on TV3’s Key Point show on Saturday November 5, Murtala claimed the President was disingenuous because Ghanaians expected him to apologize before wording his measures.

He said, “The president was disingenuous, he was disingenuous because people expected him to apologized to Ghanaians before announcing his measures. The president was also deceptive.”

He also questioned why the communicators of the NPP government and the President will say “we have managed Covid more than our neighbours”. According to him, it’s not fair how the President is blaming the Ukraine-Russia war and Covid entirely for the current economic problems.

Key decisions that his administration has made to alleviate Ghanaians’ economic problems were announced by President Akufo-Addo in the speech.
