Breaking The 8 Is Impossible: Online Poll Results Proves Who’s Winning Election 2024

According to the October poll, 70% of voters don’t believe the New Patriotic Party can break the “8”. To break the “8”, the NPP candidates should be able to hold largely intact, the coalition that won Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo the presidency in 2020 and fight for a sizeable portion of first-time voters.

However, the October poll shows that in the race between Dr .M. Bawumia and John Dramani Mahama, only 59% of voters who voted for Nana Addo in 2020 plan to vote for Dr. Bawumia as 36% will now vote for John Mahama and 5% are voting someone else.

If Alan Kyerematen is the candidate, 63% of Nana Addo’s voters will vote for Alan Kyerematen, 33% will vote for John Mahama, and 4% for someone else. NPP candidates are losing a third of their 2020 winning coalition to the National Democratic Congress’s presumptive candidate, John Dramani Mahama respectively.

On first-time voters, a key bloc of voters in 2024, Mahana is attracting the support of 2/3 against Bawumia and Alan Kyerematen. The huge defection to John Mahama and his significant advantage over first-time voters is the reason he leads Dr. Bawumia’s 62% to 33% and Alan Kyerenaten’s 60% to 36%.

For the New Patriotic Party to have a chance of breaking the “8”, it has to stop the defection, hold the coalition together and attract a good number of first-time voters, otherwise, t will lose the 2024 elections.
